Strawberry Melon Fizz

Ingredients :
- 2 c sugar -
- 1 c water -
- 5 fresh mint sprigs -
- 1 quart fresh strawberries, halved -
- 2 c cubed honeydew -
- 1-3/4 c cubed cantaloupe -
- Ginger ale or sparkling white grape juice -

How to Prepare :
1. In a saucepan, combne the sugar, water and mint. Bring to a boil. Boil and stir until a candy thermometer reads 240 degrees (soft-ball stage).
2. Remove from heat, allow to cool. Discard mint. Combine the strawberries and melon.
3. Just before serving, fill tall glasses with fruit and drizzle 1 T syrup. Add ginger ale or white grape juice to each.
